I was up at 5:15. Loaded the pickup but forgot the bicycle pump and tool box. Those are the two things that come to mind at the moment. Here we are after just arriving.. way too early. That's a problem with these race days. Very inaccurate information about where and when. I don't think it started until around 9:30 or 10 AM.
The race had a few team participants that preceded the individual racers. This start group waited for the teams runners to return before they got to start. The "Mt. Kings" are in the blue and black jersey's. Luis far right took first place overall and first in his age group.
First contestant into the change area.
Lewis comes through the change area seconds later
"Camanchi" John is out of the change area
Wilder the youngest of the team leaving the transition area
John coming through on the 1st lap. I was busy by the roadside filling cups with gatoraide and trying to hand them off. We were unprepared for this. Ah yes, and I forgot to bring extra water jugs.
Luis taking 1st place
John crossing the finish line.
Oliver who choose not to take time to put his running shoes back on. He's in his socks!
Winder crossing the finish line
Oliver takes a swig of refreshments just after finishing. He's excited about having just take 2nd place. Shortly there after he's telling us he wants to enter the Vuelta Chiriqui... Ah Oliver he's ready to take on the world
Lewis still catching his breath after the race
Wilder get his 3rd place award's
Lewis 1st place, John 2nd place
Actually I'm a little confused because now the winners shot has John in 3rd place and another fellow is on the stage
Oliver 2nd place honors
The guy in the middle took won a prize. He was one of the organizers
While I was away in the states the guys were racking up major wins. At the finals Luis took 1st place for the season and John took third. August 28th I flew home to try and make to my Mom's bedside who passed away. At that time I had just come off a 3rd and a 1st place win in the Master Tournament Group D, 60 and above. I cut 2 min's off the 5 min head start of the group C. There were two races to go to finish off the season and I felt hot to take top honors. Oh well maybe next year. Photo quality is sub par because these are photos of photos
Oliver and John presented me with a team shirt. I didn't know they had this planed. I was quite surprised of course humbled to see that they put my name on the shirt.
Dana gets credit too for helping out and supporting the guys
Just turned 62 and looking it...oh well
62... that makes it 10 year I've been at this sport. It's been funnnnnnnn
